I have been in search for a coffee blend which will match to the coffee that is available in south India. After a whole lot of search i came across with this product. Believe me this is AWESOME. If made the "Right way", the taste can be on your tastebuds atleast for an hour after you have had the coffee. Such a Bold flavor and such an subtle touch of cinnamon, this has really taken me back to the place which is half way around the globe.
Great Aroma and Good Choice for coffee lovers who like to have their coffee with hot milk. Not for the ones who want cold coffees. Ideal temperature of the milk would have to be 60-70 degree C for this coffee and please dont boil the decoction once it is made. That screws up the whole taste.

This is by far my favorite Starbucks blend and my second favorite coffee in the world (the top is a very rare 'boutique' brand hard to find)! If Starbucks only poured Komodo Dragon and Sumatra, another fave, as their dark brews, I'd be a happy camper ;). Yet it's pretty rare for this to be the 'bold of the day' at our local stores, so it's a treat when I see that dragon logo on a Sunday morning. When I do buy beans for home from Sbux, this is the blend I choose. an aquired taste, yes, but once hooked, this is how you'll define coffee!

My husband first turned me on to this coffee and i wasn't sure i liked it. now i appreciate the bold and spicy flavor. We are wine drinkers and this is a great Syrah to us. It's not for whimps but if you like strong coffee, this is superior to Sumatra.

The other day while at Starbucks, I was in the mood to try something new. And I'm so glad I did because I have found my new favorite coffee.. Wow was I impressed! For dark coffee, it does not carry a bitter taste at all. Though I typically use cream, I had it for the first time without cream (by doing so, one can really taste the full flavor and the smooth notes of this blend).
The day they discontinue this blend.. well I wouldn't even know what to do!

Since the corruption of the original Gold Coast and the disappearance of Sulawesi, Komodo Dragon has floated to the top of my Starbuck's favorites list (right beside Sumatra#.
I learned to drink coffee while living in Indonesia as a young man, and this is definitely a cup for the fan of coffees from that region. The acid profile is low #a blessing for me#, and the flavor is dominated by a tropical woodiness over hints of exotic spices. It's incredibly complex, and as the cup cools different flavors advance to the front. The aroma when brewing is very reminiscent of moist earth #and I mean that in the best way possible).
I love this coffee, but folks who prefer the sharp acid bite of Latin American beans may not find their bliss here.
If this is to your liking, make a habit of jumping on any of the Reserve coffees that come out of Southeast Asia. I just ordered the West Java, and am counting the days till it arrives.
