I wanted a stainless steel press, the glass ones seem to break too easy.This one is not only good looking but made very well also.
I could not see the advantage of having a thermal French press to keep coffee warm due to the fact that as soon as you press your coffee, you are supposed to get it out of the press before it turns bitter. But I do like that it is thermal because I do preheat the press and it does seem to hold the heat better than a glass press.
Makes great coffee, easy to use, and I think it will last a long time.
1 minor thing would be;
Having the amount of water marked in ounces on the inside of the press would be great, sometimes I only make half of this 34 ounce press and don't know how much water I'm actually adding unless I pour into a measuring cup first and then pour it into the press, which does cool water down. The glass ones don't seem to have any measurement marks on them either. Why??

My husband and I are getting our money's worth on this coffee press. Every morning my husband grinds whole coffee beans and makes our coffee. Nothing like a fresh cup of hot coffee to wake us up! This coffee press keeps our coffee hotter than our last coffee press made of glass.

After dining at an exclusive restaurant that served the BEST coffee I've ever enjoyed, from a French Press, I asked the server about French Presses. He said the glass one's were great, but broke easily. I bought a glass one on sale, loved it, broke in within 2 weeks. My family bought me this stainless steel model and I am THRILLED. The fact that it makes 8 cups and is "thermal" for 2 hours is a bonus. One of the best gifts of my life!. I will strongly encourage others to purchase this unit and sell their electric coffee pot in a garage sale!

I am currently in Afghanistan and desperately missing Starbucks. My wife sent me the thermal coffee press along with some coffee for Christmas. WOW...this press makes some great coffee and it remains hot for a long time. I will continue to use it, even when I return home.

I love French presses. They make the best cup of coffee in my opinion. I chose this press because I have come to really trust the Bodum brand for its French presses. I know that Bodum makes a quality product. Another reason I chose this press is because I wanted a French press without a glass beaker. With this press I do not have to worry about breakage which means this should be the last French press I ever buy. That spells V-A-L-U-E.
As for performance, this French press delivers. It's easy to use, easy to clean and because it's thermal it does a great job of keeping coffee hot. Honestly, I can't think of one thing I would change about this press. I am very, very pleased with this purchase.

I bought this for our son-in-law's birthday, and he is loving it. The double walls keep the coffee hot and the press has a sturdy seal keeping the grounds where they belong. :-) I would recommend this press for anyone who loves a fresh cup of French Press coffee.

This is the best coffee press ever. I am an avid outdoors-woman that cannot love without my coffee, and instant just doesn't cut it for me....Yes, I am a coffee snob and call me crazy, but I bought this beautiful coffee press to take with me camping or hunting. Most coffee presses are glass and would break on one of my outdoor adventures, but this one....held up very well. It made the perfect pitcher of coffee while I sat by the river. It kept the coffee hot/warm for quite a long time. I highly recommend this coffee press for ANY occassion.

This press is easy to use. I preheat with warm/hot tap water, while I grind and get the beans ready. Coffee prep is very fast, easy to use and the coffee taste really fresh.
I use 5 to 6 heaping TBSP of fresh ground coffee (grind fairly fine) and fill the press about an 1inch to 1-1/2 from the top with water (at a simmer temp - just shy of a boil). to make sure the grounds are filtered. I would recommend this item.
I think this would also work for tea leaves.

Coffee stays hot, pot cleans easily and sparkles, filter keeps out all granules from cup. Looks good in kitchen, living room or study. This press makes the whole French Press business very calm and comforting and provides a great flavor. Easy to use and feels very secure.

This is the second press that I have ordered from Starbucks and it is even better than the first one. We (my son) actually broke the rubber handle on our original pot. It was 6 years old and got alot of use with 3 coffee drinkers in the house. My son is fixing the handle and taking the pot back to school with him. I think I spoiled my kids. We no longer have an electric maker in the house and will continue to buy from you in the future.
