I just brought my Verismo home, and I love the functionality of the machine. However, I'm disappointed in the choice of decaf options. I will have to keep my other machine until Starbucks decides to offer better decaf selections. I'm also one of those people who can only drink decaf - I like the Dark Italian Roast.
Starbucks Personality:Brewed coffee with lots of cream and sugar
I love my verismo machine but the negative until now is that there were no decaf pods. I can't have any caffeine after noon if I want to sleep at bedtime. I also am a coffee lover so have been unable to use the verismo for my afternoon coffee. So hurray for the decaf pods. The only negative is that they are not available in the walk in stores. Please Starbucks, stock decaf in your walk in stores and make more varieties available in decaf!
I am a 30+ year regular customer: Seattle and now Sarasota. I have a Verismo machine, and before that a Baristo (which worked much better in MANY ways). My wife can only drink Decaf. FINALLY you issued a Brew Decaff -- but no store stocks it (I go to a lot of them). So I must order then online with the mailing cost added.
As long as I've had my Verismo, I've been waiting for decaf, other than the decaf espresso pods. "I think it's coming," the local baristas have told me. When I emailed Verismo customer service, I learned that indeed, there is a decaf. But it is evidently only available by mail order.
As previous reviewer mentioned, I too have been waiting for a decaf pod (besides the espresso, which I rarely drink) since I got my Verismo one year ago. It tastes great as most of the pods do, but I agree that the price should be lower. Also, I would love to see an expanded variety of decaf pods, specifically the Verona (hint, hint Starbucks). But overall I am satisfied with my machine as it is easy to use for a quick cup of coffee that I desperately need between taking children to school and working from home.
Starbucks Personality:A press pot of single-origin coffee
I've been waiting for a decaf brewed coffee pod for a long time, since the first day I got my Verismo machine (about one year ago)! I'm very glad to see that Starbucks is expanding the selection of pods. This decaf Pike Place Roast is just as good as regular ones without having to refrain from it in evening. However, just like all other pods, the price is still higher than they should be. When I'm making coffee at home I expect much lower price than in the store. A venti cup of brewed coffee costs about $2.86 when using these pods but only costs $2.45 in store.
