It was a dud. Didn't even get to steam milk or grind the coffee. The machine was not working properly when I got it. I started with reading all the instructions and doing all the steps that it took and it started blinking red. I called customer service and they are sending me a new one. I also need to send the broken one back. they are paying for shipping too.

I read several reviews on the Giro "cousin" machine that is now not available on this site, and had a difficult time taking the plunge and buying this machine. Several people complained about all the error lights and how sensitive the machine is to use, or how it wouldn't even start brewing.
I wanted to upgrade from a Sirena, which made good coffee, but it had been having some issues. The Odea is definitely a step up in technology and quality. I am pleasantly surprised at the sweetness of the coffee in comparison to the Sirena, and the foam from the basic steamer attachment is excellent. I haven't even used the Cappuccinatore attachment yet, because the "regular" way has enough foam for me!
You definitely want to have the manual handy and read the set up and maintenance instructions. I only make one to two drinks a day, but I've found that the dredge drawer and water tank need service more frequently than outlined in the manual. Typically if you clean/fill them every other cup, you will probably not have the warning lights show up. The water tank is a little tight to open, but with a little upward pressure it slides out easily. So far all guests have given the drinks a thumbs up. This is a great machine and I hope to use it for years to come.
Side note: I have been very pleased also with the Saeco service in my region. It's nice to buy an appliance that actually can be serviced, and they didn't yell and scream when I opened mine up to see what I could fix. They just told me what to look for and how to re-set it. This is another reason I decided to buy from the Saeco product line.
