I love East African coffees. I find the floral and citrus notes very pleasing in the cup. With their crisp acidity and complex flavors, East African coffees almost present a more tea-like experience. I enjoy pairing East African coffees with citrus and/or berry flavored pastries. Starbucks' iced lemon pound cake is the perfect pairing for this particular coffee.
Speaking of this particular coffee, it is wonderful! The citrus aroma and flavor really drives this coffee. In addition to the citrus notes, this coffee has a great floral quality and finishes with a hint of chocolate. It is very well balanced and does not need cream or sugar.
This coffee is more delicate than a dark roasted coffee and for that reason a French press really brings out the flavor better than an automatic drip brewer. If you are using an automatic drip brewer then please make sure to use the correct grind and an adequate amount of ground coffee. If brewed properly, this coffee is beautiful.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Average and not Reserve

I found this coffee very average and I did not find the flavor profile to be what was written. I varied the strength 2 different times withe the same result. A bit disappointing. I am finding that the Reserve line is not what it used to be (I've purchased routinely). The original Reserves such as the 5 year Sumatra etc. were quite exceptional while these are coffee's that are very average at best.

I didn't really like this coffee. I like a bold, flavorful roast and that was what I was expecting when I got this. I was disappointed not to taste the flavor notes described in the advertisement. To me this tasted bark-like. I also found it required a narrow temperature range when brewing (I use a french press) to get the most flavor out of it. You can do better with a standard coffee.

This coffee smells divine and I got up this morning all excited about having a cup of my new Malawi coffee in my new Starbucks mug, (which is wonderful, it's a nice big mug!) but lo and behold, I had forgotten that I lent my coffee press to my son. :( I did have some Starbucks Vanilla instant on hand, which is great for instant, but I had my tongue all set for that special coffee!! So I have to go out and buy a new coffee maker!

My very first sip of the Malawi coffee was exquisite. That first sip was like watching a surfer taking a wave all the way in to shore with no errors. You enjoy every last drop of every cup. No bitter after-taste what-so-ever. It is smooth, crisp and clean. So far, this one is definitely my favorite. It must have some nutty or chocolaty tones in there because the floral coffee's are the ones that I definitly have not preferred after tasting. I definitely recommend this coffee for those of you who love a smooth chocolate, clean crisp cup of coffee. You will not regret it.

Malawian coffee is my all time favorite coffee. I am so excited that Starbucks has brought it back. I have been waiting for 15 years. It is full of flavor with out having any after taste. Mu family members who do not like Starbucks, like Malawian coffee because of the smoothness of the coffee and the taste.
The first time I ever had coffee from Malawi was when my father-in-law brought some to us from Malawi. I fell in love with it then. I was ex tactic when I first saw it at Starbucks years ago.
Thank you Starbucks for bringing back my favorite coffee of all time!!!

My favorite coffee is usually a darker roast. I would say this is a light to medium blend, but ohhhhhh so smooth. Amazing flavor. It does not have that acidity after taste. Try it hot or iced with a splash of non-fat milk. I will buy this one again. You will not be disappointed.

This is an o.k. coffee. It is mild and without a lot of flavor. I think I got spoiled with the Kona which is no longer available.

The Malawi has a full, rich flavor with a smooth finish. I especially enjoyed that it didn't turn bitter in the brewing process. One of the few robust coffees that I don't need to cut with milk.
