I have been using Guatemala Antigua for years now. I have a grind and brew that I use with the beans and the coffee that it brews each morning is delightful.

I recently had the pleasure of a coffee tasting with my store manager and district manager. My SM prepared the tasting and she chose this coffee paired with a warmed morning bun. I had tasted this coffee before and yet when paired with the warmed morning bun it was like drinking an entirely different coffee. The cinnamon in the morning bun really elevated this coffee. There are so many things I love about being a Starbucks partner (most notably all the people I interact with day in and day out) but discovering something new in a coffee I have had before really makes me happy to be a part of such a wonderful company.
If you haven't tried this coffee then I hope you do. It is smooth, balanced and pairs so well with breakfast foods, or chocolate for all you chocoholics. If you have had this coffee before then I encourage you to try it again with a morning bun, churro or French toast. You will discover something new about this coffee when you pair it with a cinnamon treat.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I wanted to try this from the description I read, and I was not disappointed! I really enjoyed this coffee, which in our house is saying a lot as we usually buy dark roast. I wish I had bought more!

I have not tried all of the Starbucks coffees and blends, but for me this coffee is the first to come to mind when I consider the perfect cup. Balanced, rich, and velvety with wine-like tones, this coffee is my favorite.

Love to wake up to a fresh ground cup of the Guatemala Antigua coffee !! First cup is warm, next cup is cold with fresh cane sugar and cream then ice cubs..Yum Yum Yum.
Share some with my skeptical parents that say that coffee is coffee buy low and behold....THEY LOVE IT and said that they sure were happy to know what an excellent cup of coffee tastes like before they pass, they are 80 years old and happy with this quality !! Thank you so much Starbucks !!!

Lighter, Smooth Med Roast

Guatemala Antigua is a very nice coffee. On the roast scale, it is a lighter-medium roast, but very pleasant and smooth. It has a nutty hint and I can taste the presence of cocoa & spice (subtle). Adjusting the grind and amount of beans will yield the intensity to your taste. I bought my bag in whole beans and grind fairly fine and use in a drip coffee or pour over (e.g. Melitta) method. This is a good coffee for those who enjoly a milder but full coffee. Nice for warmer seasons or climates. I have not tried grinding it for a French Press, but I have a press and will defintely try that. Happy Coffee drinking! :)

Coffee evokes contrary palate experience

The Starbucks Guatemala Antigua blend lacks both the elegance and the complexity the description explicates. The "subtle cocoa" was, at best, absent from consideration — and at worst, a gross misdescription of the product on offer. The "spice," too, didn't evoke any great sensation of joy, though it wasn't a stomach-revolting affair, either.
The medium roast description seemed inaccurate, as though the coffee had been left in the roaster for perhaps minutes too long. These things, after all, are delicate affairs. It did, however, call to mind the elusive sensation that only burnt popcorn can evoke.

I love Starbucks' variety of coffees and they're all I drink, I like to try all the different blends that I can. Until recently I haven't been able to get my hands on the Guatemala Antigua so I had to try it; I was a bit disappointed. Usually their blends are complex with multiple layers, however this one is just bland to me, it wasn't bad by any means just not what I've come to expect from Starbucks.
I would not recommend this but would recommend any of their other blends, like the Verona or Komodo Dragon!

An excellent medium coffee which I drink daily at home as part of my morning ritual. We find the unique smooth flavor with the hints of cocoa and spice make this a wonderful way to start or have mid-day. Always grabbing another whole bean bag when found. Enjoy.

Burnt Popcorn

Before I begin this review I will start by saying that I love Starbucks, I'm a gold member, so I'm not writing this to hate on Starbucks. That being said, this coffee smells, and tastes like burnt popcorn. One might attribute it to the natural bitterness of black coffee, but this literally smells..... And tastes.... Just like burnt popcorn. I went to Guatemala, spent 5 weeks there and drank coffee multiple times a day, everyday, and never did I have coffee that bad, even from their generic Guatemalan brand. Starbucks has many other great flavors of coffee, I would stay away from this one though. Unless you love the taste of burnt popcorn.... Then you would love it.
No, I do not recommend this product.
