This used to be my favorite starbucks coffee. Not only was it strong, but it had a very flavorful taste.
Starting sometime in 2012, starbucks changed it (as other reviewers have pointed out), & it's not as strong, nor as well-flavored.
I don't order as much of it as I used to, & I'll soon drop it from my regular rotation (which also includes Verona & Sumatra) if it doesn't go back to what it used to be.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Order and shipment routine and easy. Thanks for the promotional discount in the way of Starbuck's gift cards! I love this Gold Coast dark with half & half to start my day. Also wonderful in evenings with John Jameson whiskey, sugar and a big dollop of whipped cream: Irish Coffee.

I've tried all the coffees at Starbucks over many years and enjoy most of them but the Gold Coast Blend is without a doubt my top choice for daily enjoyment.
The Gold Coast blend is a smooth yet complex dark roast that makes for a great cup of coffee no matter how you prepare it: black, cream and sugar etc.. I enjoy it Black with a touch of my favorite sweetener.
I'll swap it out from time to time with the Starbucks Italian Roast or French Roast to shake things up.

The original Gold Coast Blend was neck-and-neck with Komodo Dragon for being my favorite Starbuck's blend. But something has definitely changed since it was re-branded as "Morning Joe Edition." It's lost a lot of its depth and complexity, and definitely has a higher acid profile than the original. Count me among those who are unimpressed.
Here's hoping some celebrity doesn't want to slap his moniker on Komodo Dragon and ruin that as well.

I LOVE this blended dark roast coffee as it is the ONLY dark coffee I have found that does not leave a bitter aftertaste in my mouth.
However, If I drive to a Starbucks retail store to get it, the 1lb bag(s) are vacuum sealed. These I ordered from the online site/store arrived un-vacuum sealed.
I am confused as to why? I would think that if anything, the experience should be the opposite as i am sure in this cyber age, that they sell more coffee via this site than any of their retail stores... So...not sure why this packaging discrepancy?

I had a friend over for coffee. I have a french press. He called me later and asked what it was - I said Starbucks Anniversary - my favorite. He said his was Gold Coast - but Anniversary was his new second. I ordered what Anniversary was left and Gold Coast for him - he loved it. He likes the depth of the roast, the smooth & distinctive taste. Im glad we both love Starbucks.
